Road Safety

Council is committed to reducing road trauma in our community.

We are actively involved in the Bass Coast Road Safety Committee along with representatives from the community, VicRoads and Victoria Police.

The Bass Coast Road Safety Plan outlines local road safety issues and how they can be addressed. The Plan was developed after extensive consultation with the community. There were also many organisations that contributed to the Plan including VicRoads, RACV, Victoria Police, Municipal Association of Victorian and the Transport Accident Commission.   It is a key tool for promoting community awareness and education. The objective of the Plan is to reduce the incidence and severity of road crashes in the Shire by education programs, increased use of community networks and increased road safety resources at the local level.

For further information or for a copy of the Plan please contact our Community Safety Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
