Accessible Formats

Council's commitment to access and inclusion means making sure that people with disability can take part in our consultations and be kept informed of our activities and decisions.

Council information and publications are available in a variety of formats. There are also a range of way people with hearing, speech, mobility and vision impairment can communicate with Council. Communicating Customers who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can use the National Relay Service:

  • TTY users: phone 133 677 then ask for 1300 226 278
  • Speak & Listen users (speech-to-speech relay): phone 1300 555 727 then ask for 1300 226 278
  • Internet relay users: connect to the NRS – see www.relayservice.com.au for details – and then ask for 1300 226 278

Publications

Council produces a number of publications in a variety of formats to ensure access for everyone. Our Coastell newsletter and Home Care information are available in large print, to assist people with impaired vision and is also available on audio CD. To have your name added to our alternative format mailing list, please contact Communications (email: communications@basscoast.vic.gov.au) or speak to our Aged and Disability team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
