Caring for Lost and Stray Animals
If you have lost your pet, we may have it in our animal shelter. Please contact Council's Community Safety Rangers team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278).
If you find a stray, injured or wandering animal we can arrange for a Ranger to come out to collect the animal, just give the Community Safety Rangers team a call.
In many cases the owner may have already registered their details with us and we can reunite them with their pet quickly. Our Rangers are able to scan animals for microchips and, if found, in most cases can contact the owner to arrange collection of the animal.
Looking for a pet?
Whilst Council does not rehouse animals directly from their pound, we do have arrangements with the RSPCA to undertake these services.
The RSPCA is located at 1030 Robinsons Road, Pearcedale and offers a variety of animals for adoption - including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, plus a whole range of other animals. Contact the RSPCA direct on (03) 5978 6706 or visit their website www.rspcavic.org.
