Assistance After An Emergency

There are many agencies in Bass Coast involved in emergency recovery services including:-

Family Resource Centre at Bass Coast Regional Health
A Regional Family Resource Centre is ideally situated adjacent to the Wonthaggi Hospital. Staff are available to provide counselling during an emergency and assistance after an incident.

Bass Coast Community Health Service - San Remo / Wonthaggi

Bass Coast Shire Council - 1300 BCOAST (226 278)
Through the Recovery Manager, staff trained in counselling are available and Council staff would be deployed upon request, according to the relevant situation.

St. Vincent De Paul
Provision of emergency relief through local agencies in the form of food, clothes, furniture and funds.

Salvation Army
Similar to St. Vincent De Paul and are available to also provide limited counselling.

Red Cross
Provides personal support, assistance and information to affected individuals for as long as required. They can also provide material aid and personal services to affected individuals.

Referral for help and information if you’ve been involved in, or witnessed an, upsetting event. They also provide assistance with access to other essential emergency services. This is a free service, available 24 hours a day and all calls are treated as confidential.
